U.S. stock futures on Monday were lower and most global shares trended to the downside following another terrorist attack in the U.K. on Saturday night and escalating tensions in the Gulf region.

Britain's FTSE 100 slipped 0.3% and the pound weakened marginally against the U.S. dollar as investors reacted to Saturday's terrorist attack in London -- the third attack in as many months in the U.K. -- that killed seven people and injured 50 more.
