Wall Street Begins Federal Reserve Watch, 2 Day Meeting Gets Underway
Wall Street is on Fed Watch. The Open Market Committee meets today and tomorrow to discuss interest rates, the economy and geopolitical events. It is widely expected that no change in interest rates will take place as the Fed deals with the upcoming U.S. election and mixed economic signals. The decision will be released tomorrow at 2 pm Eastern Time. Apple (AAPL) - Get Report is scheduled to report its earnings after the close today. The single biggest factor in Apple's quarter numbers is the iPhone. It is two-thirds of Apple's revenue. The company may reveal that is has sold its billionth iPhone, a feat not many companies can reach. DuPont's (DD) - Get Report revenue grew in the recent quarter. The company says it saw strength in agriculture, performance materials and nutrition and health. Currency fluctations did negatively impact sales.
