This is what you need to know before the opening bell.
U.S. stock futures were rising Wednesday while European and Asian shares traded higher, despite a continued dip in oil prices.
Walt Disney (DIS) - Get Reportsaid adjusted earnings in its fiscal first quarter fell 10% year over year to $1.55 a share, but still topped analysts' estimates of $1.49. The stock was down 0.8% in premarket trading on Wednesday.
Rio Tinto (RIO) - Get Report posted stronger-than-expected full-year earnings Wednesday and boosted its annual divided, as the world's second-largest miner took advantage of rising commodity prices.
Gilead Sciences (GILD) - Get Report was tumbling nearly 6% in premarket trading Wednesday after the biotech company said total product sales would decline sharply in 2017, hurt by falling patient demand and lower net prices for the company's hepatitis C drugs.
