Lawsuits against Volkswagen are beginning to flood in, following accusations that the automaker cheated on car engine emissions tests. The company said on Tuesday that as many as 11 million of its diesel vehicles worldwide may have been manipulated to produce lower harmful emissions during testing than when driving normally. Customers have been left fuming after paying extra for fuel saving engines which actually churn out up to 40 times more emissions than advertised. The German manufacturer has seen its stock plunge over the last few days and now expects to spend around $7.3 billion on recalling vehicles and tending to its damaged reputation.
