VOCALiD Founder on Using Technology to Bring Voice to ALS Patients

VOCALiD is a technology that aims to help millions suffering from communication impairments. It blends voice from the recipient, which is limited, with voices from vocal donors, allowing users to have a voice that closely matches their natural one, before it was affected by a disease. VOCALiD also has uses beyond the medical field. TheStreet's Scott Gamm speaks with Dr. Rupal Patel, founder and President of VOCALiD at SXSW in Austin, Texas about the technology, competitors and how Dr. Patel raised funding. The company won the 2015 SXSW Interactive Innovation Award in the health med and biotech space.
