But under the leadership of Kerry Trainor, who became CEO just three years ago, the company is trying to get users to pay for some of its content. 'If YouTube is the open, Internet version of broadcast television - it's mass, it's free to consume and supported by advertising - Vimeo is building the open Internet version of premium cable,' Trainor said.
