Earnings growth should drive stocks higher in 2018, not multiple expansion, according to Oliver Pursche, chief market strategist at Bruderman Brothers.
Pursche said analysts are expecting an 18% rise in earnings for 2018, a high hurdle to meet in his view. Though any double-digit growth in earnings is enough to push stocks higher, he noted.
