In December, TD Ameritrade clients were net buyers of Micron Technology (MU) - Get Report and Nvidia (NVDA) - Get Report .
"It is as very volatile sector," said JJ Kinahan, TD Ameritrade's chief market strategist.
Other stocks clients purchased included Microsoft (MSFT) - Get Report and General Electric (GE) - Get Report .
