It felt like a bit of a rollercoaster ride as Google's (GOOGL) - Get Report CEO Sundar Pichai testfied in front of the U.S. House Judiciary Committee's hearing on the transparency and accountability of Google's data collection and usage in his first testimony before Congress.
In a prepared statement, Pichai told the committee that he is proud of what Google has done for people around the world. He used his own experience, long before he joined Google 15 years ago and described what it was like growing up in India without technology... and remembering how new technology made a profound difference in his life.
But, the warm and fuzzy stuff quickly ended and the Committee Grilling began. For all of the details and to see how Alphabet's stock is performing, read TheStreet's Jacob Sonenshine's article: Google CEO Being Grilled By Congress on Political Bias, Privacy of User Data.
