Video: General Motors Is Worth More Than Tesla and Ford
For the big automakers, it's all about self driving and electric cars. That has propelled Tesla shares. In April of 2017, Tesla's market cap eclipsed General Motors and Ford.
For the big automakers, it's all about self driving and electric cars. That has propelled Tesla (TSLA) - Get Report shares. In April of last year, Tesla's market cap eclipsed General Motors (GM) - Get Report and Ford (F) - Get Report .
But then towards the end of the year, GM reclaimed the top spot and now remains more valuable than Tesla and Ford.
GM's market cap is almost $63 billion. Tesla is at about $60 billion and Ford is trailing with a $52 billion market cap.
But we'll see how Ford does this year. At the Consumer Electronics Show, Ford announced a link up with Postmates for a self-driving delivery initiative.
Ford sees just how much investors are rewarding the autonomous space.
