Vice President Mike Pence Sets Stern Tone With North Korea

Vice President Mike Pence says the United States stands with South Korea. He is visiting the nation this week. Pence says the time for 'strategic patience' with North Korea is over. Pence says all options are on the table when it comes to North Korea.

Earnings kick into full gear this week. Nine Dow Industrial Average companies will be reporting between today and Friday. United Continental will be especially interesting to see if investors are questioning the company's leadership after a passenger was forcibly removed from a plane earlier this month.

A top Treasury official may be the next Federal Reserve nominee. Reports this morning say Randal Quarles may be appointed as soon as today as the Fed's Vice Chairman for Bank Supervision. The position requires Senate confirmation. The job was created by the 2010 Dodd-Frank financial law to oversee the largest U.S. banks.
