S&P Capital IQ equity analyst Tuna Amobi tells TheStreet's Rhonda Schaffler Viacom should see improving ad trends following the TV Upfronts. He also expects progress will be made on Viacom's efforts to monetize non-Nielsen viewership over the next few months. He says Viacom has been aggressive in launching mobile apps, and the challenge it faces now is to convert usage into dollars. Amobi, who holds a buy rating on Viacom, also believes worries about the fallout from the departure of two stars - Steven Colbert and John Stewart - are overdone. While Amobi is pleases with efforts being taken by Viacom, he says there is still a chance the company considers merging with CBS, despite Viacom's denials of that possibility. He says as distribution companies scale up, there are questions about whether pure content plays like Viacom become vulnerable.
