Vermont Is Strict on Marijuana but a Bastion for Potential Growth
Vermont may have the strictest marijuana laws, but a lot could change with state Sen. David Zuckerman's proposed bill to allow sales tax on recreational pot.
If Colorado is the most liberal marijuana state in the nation, Vermont is the strictest. It's true that the possession of less than an ounce has been decriminalized but the New England state has limited the number of medical marijuana patients to a mere one thousand. And only four dispensaries have been licensed to serve the entire state. Business-wise, no equity stake is allowed. But a lot could change with state senator David Zuckerman's proposed bill to allow sales tax on recreational pot.
