Verizon May Make Bid for Yahoo!, Google Said to be Weighing Offer
Verizon (VZ) - Get Report may emerge as the leading bidder for Yahoo's (YHOO) core assets as well as Yahoo Japan. Bloomberg reports that the telecom giant will make a big for the ailing web company next week. Other interested parties that have been reported include AT&T (T) - Get Report , Google (GOOGL) - Get Report , and Time, Inc. Victoria's Secret is cutting jobs and shifting away from its iconic catalog. Parent company L Brands (LB) - Get Report says it will reorganize into units focused on lingerie, beauty and its PINK brand. Victoria's Secret also plans to rely more on loyalty programs and other ways to connect with customers, rather than its traditional print mailings. Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen offerred an upbeat view of the U.S. economy and hinted that the Central Bank's next step would be to raise interest rates. In an extraordinary panel discussion, Yellen was joined by former Fed Chiefs Ben Bernanke, Alan Greenspan and Paul Volker.
