Utah Senator Mike Lee on Comey's Upcoming Testimony, Trump's Withdrawal From the Paris Agreement and Tax Reform
Utah Senator Mike Lee (R) thinks his colleagues on the Senate Intelligence Committee will ask former FBI Director James Comey about any political pressure he may have faced on the Russia investigation. Comey is set to testify on Thursday.
"I'm sure they're going to ask him what, if any, political pressure he felt along the way," Lee said in an interview with TheStreet.
Lee said he would be surprised if Comey contradicted the testimony he gave the Senate Judiciary Committee on May 3, which Lee is a member of. "He told us he has not seen any type of political pressure to reach a particular outcome in any investigation," Lee said.
Various news reports surfaced saying Comey wrote memos after meeting with President Trump. One of the memos Comey reportedly wrote said that Trump asked Comey to back off the investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn.
Lee is also the author of the new book Written Out of History: The Forgotten Founders Who Fought Big Government.
