RealMoney Pro contributor Chris Versace believes investors should use short-term holiday strength to exit shares of Barnes & Noble. Versace says investors need to consider what companies have solid management teams that understand how to innovate and adapt their businesses. Prime examples of companies with these kinds of management teams include Apple and Starbucks, Versace says. However, he stresses that Barnes & Noble has it all wrong. As a retailer that lacks a proprietary product line that draws consumers into its stores, Versace says Barnes & Noble just can't stand up to competitors. Amid declining revenues and earnings, he says this is a stock to sell on strength and could even be a short if it gets a little richer.
