U.S. Stocks Surge; Greece Submits New Reform Proposal

U.S. stocks opened sharply higher Friday as Greece submits new $59 billion reform proposal that contains tax increases and spending cuts. ESPN (DIS) is tightening its belt. Long a leader in cable TV, it has been seeing subscribers flee. Nielsen estimates subscribers to ESPN have dropped by more than 3 million in the past year as people cut cable TV bills. At the same time, the prices ESPN pays for the rights to show games are ballooning. Universal Studio's (GE) 'Minions' movie has high expectations at the box office on this opening weekend. Some believe 'Minions', part of the 'Despicable Me' franchise could be a billion dollar movie, which, if true, could make it the third billion dollar film for Universal this year, joining 'Jurassic World' and 'Furious 7.'
