U.S. Stocks Open Lower as Investors Digest Mixed Bag of Earnings
U.S. stocks opened lower Tuesday as earnings continue to be a mixed bag. While some companies, like Verizon (VZ) and Lockheed Martin (LMT) have beaten expectations, it does seem as though a theme of low growth projections is the rule. Lockheed Martin says it's aeronautics and missile division performed well in the recent quarter. However, the space division saw revenue fall. Brinker International (EAT), the owner of Chilis and Maggianos, saw earnings rise year over year. After the bell today. Yahoo (YHOO) reports earnings and investors will look for updates on the spinoff of Alibaba. Chipotle (CMG) also reports amid increased competition in the natural fast casual space.
