U.S. stocks opened higher Friday as some key retailers are reporting better than expected sales. Abercrombie & Fitch (ANF) says profits were higher in the recent quarter, one main reason is that the teen retailer offered fewer discounts. The retailer's sales topped estimates. Foot Locker (FL) also topped earnings and sales expectations. It said it is continuing to attract customers due to its wide variety of merchandise. Foot Locker says it had strong sales of basketball gear and running shoes. It same store sales were up nearly 9%. It offered some popular styles such as Adidas AG's Yeezy, Nike's Air Jordan, Jordan Eclipse, and Kyrie 1, and Under Armour's Curry 2.
