U.S. Service Sector Surges at Fastest Pace in 8 Months

Growth in the U.S. services sector accelerated in April, rising at the fastest pace in eight months, according to the ISM report released on Monday. The economy is showing signs of improving after a slow start to the year. The ISM report shows the services sector index rose by more than one point in April. Business activity surged 7.5 points and new orders rose by nearly 5 points for the month. The employment index dipped slightly by 2 points from March.
