UPS Hit by High Holiday Costs and Lukewarm 2015 Projections

Parcel delivery service UPS delivered quarterly results on Tuesday that met analyst estimates. But despite a 12% increase in cyber Monday deliveries, the company was hit with higher-than-expected holiday operating costs. UPS reported an increased revenue of $15.9 billion, up from last year's $14.98 billion and earnings of $1.25 per share. UPS delivered 1.3 billion packages during the fourth quarter, up 8% from last year's numbers but profit has dropped nearly 2%. Shares of the company were down on the results and the lukewarm forecast for 2015.
