Universal Pictures to Make Steve Jobs Biopic After Sony Drops Out

Universal Pictures will reportedly develop a biopic on Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, soon after Sony Pictures dropped its plans to produce the film. Universal has acquired the project, which was shopped with a price tag of more than $30 million, according to the Hollywood Reporter, although the final price is unknown. Sony acquired the rights to the film after Jobs passed away in 2011. The movie, based on the Walter Isaacson biography, will be directed by Danny Boyle. The script is being co-written by Aaron Sorkin, of 'The Social Network.' Actor Michael Fassbender has been chosen to portray Jobs, while Seth Rogen is expected to join the cast in the role of Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.
