Oregon is the top moving destination of 2014 while the exodus continues from New York and New Jersey, said Jim Powers, President of UniGroup and CEO of United Van Lines. According to United Van Lines’ National Movers Study, which tracks customers’ migration patterns, South Carolina was the second biggest destination, followed closely by its northern neighbor North Carolina. The Northeast is experiencing a moving deficit with New Jersey, New York and Connecticut making the list of top outbound states for the third consecutive year. Finally, Powers said the shale states that have benefited from job growth in recent years will likely see more outbound traffic due to the fall in oil prices.
