United Technologies is bringing back a longtime executive to serve as chief financial officer. Akhil Johri succeeds Greg Hayes, who became president and CEO of the conglomerate last month. Hayes said Tuesday that Johri is highly respected for his ability to communicate with Wall Street and with shareholders. The 53-year-old Johri was CFO of Pall Corp. But he was with United Technologies for 26 years before that, serving in various executive positions. United Technologies is based in Hartford, Connecticut, and is the parent company of jet engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney, Otis elevator, Sikorsky helicopters and other aerospace and building systems companies.
