United Airlines to Reduce UK Fights Due to Brexit
United Continental (UAL) - Get Report said it will reduce its number of flights throughout its winter schedule from both Newark and Washington Dulles International Airport, giving investors confidence that the airline could boost profit margins after a difficult year. So far this year, United shares are down more than 13 percent. CEO Jim Compton, says that the 'summer peak is strong; levels look good.' He added that 'We're going through a review of the network today (and) we've made some adjustments to the winter schedule.' Meanwhile, airline rival Delta (DAL) - Get Report said last week it plans to cut capacity between the U.S. and the UK by six percent in its winter schedule because of the UK's vote to leave the European Union.
