Unilever Posts Worse-Than-Expected Full-Year Earnings
The world's biggest consumer goods company warns that a difficult environment lies ahead.
One of the world's biggest consumer products companies, Unilever (UN) - Get Report, posted worse-than-expected fourth-quarter results, as the company warned that a difficult trading environment is ahead in 2017.
Underlying sales fell short of analysts' expectations, with sales growth of 3.7% coming in 0.2% below forecasts.
"Against this background we expect a slow start, with growth improving as the year progresses," said CEO Paul Polman.
This comes after the company was involved in a pricing spat with U.K. supermarkets in 2016.
