Uber Hires NASA Engineer for Flying Car Project

Uber appears to be very serious about its flying car aspirations. The ride-hailing giant has recruited NASA engineer Mark Moore to work on the project. Uber consulted with Moore for a recent white paper on the concept and has now hired him as director of engineering for aviation.

Uber has named the new initiative Elevate. The objective is to maneuver around traffic congestion via miniature helicopter-like vehicles called VTOLs, for Vertical Take-Off and Landing.
