U.S. Stocks Pause After Record Run, Transports Move Out of Correction
U.S. Stocks are taking a breather after hitting fresh record highs this week. The Dow transporation index has moved out of correction territory, giving bullish technical analysts some ammunition for their case. Asian markets are rallying. British Prime Minister David Cameron hands over the government to new leader Theresa May today. Juno Therapeutics (JUNO) rallied as much as 28% overnight after the drugmaker said it will resume a drug trial of a potential leukemia treatment. The trial had been placed on hold last week following two patient deaths. Amazon (AMZN) - Get Report shares could be active today as prime day sales from third party merchants were about the same as last year, much less than expected. E-Commerce software company ChannelAdvisor's numbers don't include sales where Amazon is directly selling goods to customers, which included popular products like the Echo, Kindle and Fire, which all had prime day promotions.
