Good morning, it’s Tuesday, March 31.

There are over 788,000 cases of the coronavirus worldwide, according to Johns Hopkins. There are over 166,000 recovered cases of the virus worldwide.

Over 37,000 people have died from the virus.

The countries with the most cases are the U.S. with over 164,000, Italy, which has breached 101,000 and Spain with 87,000.

Italy and Spain also have the highest death tolls with over 11,000 and nearly 8,000 respectively.

Spain announced over 9,000 new cases on Tuesday and said that over 840 people had died, which is a new daily record.

In the U.S., the death toll has surpassed 3,000.

New York State has around 1,200 deaths from the virus. Putting that into perspective, New York comes in seventh worldwide. It’s in between the U.K, which has over 1,400 deaths and the Netherlands, with nearly 900 deaths.

On Monday, Governor Andrew Cuomo confirmed and additional 6,900 cases of the virus, bringing New York State’s total to 66,000.

So, putting that into perspective, that technically places New York sixth on the global list, right behind Germany, which has 67,000 cases.

And New York City has over 37,000 of those 66,000 total cases. If you put that on the worldwide list, that puts New York City eighth, right behind Iran’s 41,000 cases. New York City has a higher case count than the United Kingdom, which has 22,000.

The death toll in New York state between Sunday and Monday was over 250. Cuomo has warned that that number could reach up to 800 a day.

And experts still say that New York is nearing its apex, but it could be weeks away.

So, be safe. Stay inside.
