The Trump administration has accused Germany of exploiting the weak euro in order to take advantage of trade partners, including the Trump administration.

This criticism of Germany isn't a new phenomenon though, as the IMF has previously urged Germany to boost consumption and EU economic growth.

Germany's businesses benefit from a weak euro, which helps to ensure the country's exports surge. Ironically, the euro's decline is largely a result of policies in Europe that Germany opposes.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel rejected the accusations, stating, "As far as the question of the euro is concerned, Germany is a country that has always promoted the European Central Bank to make an independent policy."
