After years of steadily-rising airfare, travelers can expect to save a little this summer. The average round-trip domestic ticket this summer now stands at $454 including taxes -- down about $2, or less than a percent, from last summer. Vacationers to Europe will fare better with the average ticket down 3% to $1,619, about $50 less than last year. That's according to the Airlines Reporting Corp., which processes ticket transactions for airlines and travel agencies like Expedia (EXPE) and American Express (AXP). However, not all travelers will save. Domestic flights to Hawaii, Florida and New Orleans are cheaper, but routes to New York, Denver and San Francisco will cost more. In Europe, overall fares are down, but flights to cities like Amsterdam, London, Budapest, or Frankfurt will be more expensive.
