Traders Look to GDP, Housing Data and Consumer-Related Earnings for the Week Ahead
Now that the markets can move on from the Alibaba IPO, the FOMC meeting and Scotland's independence vote, traders turn their attention back to data for the week ahead. From TheStreet’s news room, Jill Malandrino points out the focus will be on key GDP, housing, manufacturing and consumer data. While the earnings calendar remains light, key reports include Autozone, Carmax, Carnival Cruise Line, Bed Bath & Beyond and Nike as investors will get more of a read into consumer spending trends. One of the biggest reports comes from Paychex, however. In addition to quarterly performance, investors also look to Paychex for commentary on employment and macro-economic trends. The company reports Wednesday ahead of jobless claims on Thursday.
