Dennis Suskind, retired Goldman Sachs executive and CME Group board member, says he is amazed regulators are forcing banks out of the commodities business, given an extensive history tying banks with commodities. He describes his efforts at Goldman Sachs to create liquidity in gold markets. Suskind also discusses price fixing investigations and fines brought against several big banks. Suskind also tells an anecdote about his hiring of Lloyd Blankfein at commodities trading firm J. Aron after Blankfein was turned down by Goldman Sachs. Blankfein, now Goldman's CEO and Chairman, joined Goldman after it acquired J. Aron in 1981.
