CEO Christophe de Margerie of French oil company Total, has died after a corporate jet crashed at a Moscow airport Monday night. De Margerie, along with all three crew members were killed 40 seconds after takeoff when the jet collided with a snow vehicle and was then engulfed in flames. De Margerie, 63, was an influential business leader who made an impact in the global energy industry. He spent his entire career at Total and was a loyal defender of Russia and its energy policies over the Ukraine crisis. Total is France's second-biggest listed company and has a market value of $130 billion, making it the fourth largest Western oil company, behind Exxon, Royal Dutch Shell and Chevron.
