How to Succeed Using Technology In Your Small Business

According to the Small Business Administration, or SBA, there are more than 27.9 million small businesses in the United States.

As you can imagine, running a small business is no easy challenge and technology can help them improve productivity, marketing, financials and even collaboration and customer service.

Mastercard's (MA) Amnah Ajmal, executive vice president of Core Products offered this advice to small business owners.

  • Networking. "I would say a networking is important," she said. "There are a lot that's happening in the world today in both the digital and the physical world. So going out there, meeting people, learning from them...Networking and connecting and meeting smarter people across the world is going to help," she added.
  • Digital Tools. On adoption of digital tools, she said,"Understanding those digital tools that will help them focus on their bigger goals and the bigger picture and making their day to day business easier would be helpful."
  • Cyber security.  She advised that business owners should be mindful about the safety and protection of their businesses. "Understand the products that are available that are for new complimentary ideas have to production service," she said. "Cyber security is extremely important in today's world and time.For getting access to their tools so you have peace of mind that your business is protected is extremely important."
