Top 3 Signs Your Partner Might Be Financially Cheating On You
Millions of Americans are financially cheating on their spouse. According to a new credit report over 4 million men and nearly 3 million women have a bank or credit card account hidden from their other half. The research also shows that these secrets are a recipe for disaster. So what are the top signs your spouse is a financial philanderer? 1) Their Pay Bracket. The study shows that the biggest secret spenders have an annual household income of between $50k and $75k. 13% admitted to more serious financial secrets like not revealing how much they really earn or the amount of debt they owed. 2) Your Partner's Age. Financial cheating isn't necessarily about having a mid life crisis. Millennials seem to be the bigger culprits. 25% of those surveyed said they have made purchases of $500 or more without telling their partner, compared with just 15% of those aged 65 and over. 3) Emotional Strain. 76% of those surveyed said that financial deception took its toll on their relationship. Hiding mail, shifting assets and covering up debts or digital footprints can be emotionally exhausting and put either partner on edge. Good warning signs are often gut feelings that something is amiss. An unwillingness to discuss financial matters is another suspicious signal. Any financial relationship needs to be built on trust and transparency, so learn how to recognize any red flags early.
