The Week Ahead: June Auto Sales and June Jobs Report

Portfolio Manager David Peltier and Research Analyst Andrew Krill preview the week ahead. Although it is a quiet earnings week, Tuesday will feature June auto sales. Consensus is looking for the SAAR to pullback to 16.3 million from 16.7 million last month and we will be focused on General Motors' report given the ongoing recall related headlines. It will be important to focus on the company's market share. In addition, we get the June employment report Thursday and consensus is looking for 215,000 non farm payrolls, 210,000 private payrolls and the unemployment rate to hold steady at 6.3%.
