While it may seem like the current market is a bit unstable, the intermediate to long-term outlook is actually in better shape because we have "put a lot of fuel into the economy," says  Carol Schleif, deputy investment officer and Abbot Downing, the high-net worth division of Wells Fargo (WFC) .

And while there is always worry about the volatility created from the tariffs and the midterm elections, those concerns actually provide opportunity, she says.

And those opportunities are not just here at home. There may soon be areas of value worth exploring overseas in both the domestic and emerging markets as well.
