The Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is now less popular than U.S. President Donald Trump. A poll released by Yomiuri Shimbun on Monday saw only 36% of the respondents say that they support Abe, compared to 47% in a recent poll for Donald Trump.
This is the lowest level of support that Shinzo Abe has received since he returned to power in 2012. Low approval ratings are seen as the reason why the Japanese Prime Minister will reshuffle his cabinet later this month.
"The Prime Minister is himself selecting the best person for each job in order to achieve what we have to do," said Yoshihide Suga, Chief Cabinet Secretary.
