The Eighth film in the wildly popular Fast and Furious franchise brought in a record $532.5 million worldwide over the Easter weekend, with just $100 million of that total coming from the North American market. F8 beat out another Universal Pictures title, 2015's "Jurassic World" for the all-time international box office opening weekend crown, with a $100 million margin. The success was driven by popularity in the growing Chinese market. Furious 7, The franchise's previous installment, raked in over $1.5 billion in theaters during its run. Universal has announced two more films for release in 2019 and 2021.
