"The Chicago-Sun Times, the longtime second paper of the city is up for sale and it looks like it will have a new owner before the end of the week," said TheStreet's Ken Doctor.
Doctor said the Department of Justice doesn't want Tronc (TRNC) , which owns the Chicago Tribune, to own the Sun-Times. "They want an alternative owner," Doctor said. "There is a new business group also affiliated with the Chicago Federation of Labor and that group is very close to finalizing the deal."
