Test Drive: Inside GM's All New 2016 Chevy Volt Electric Hybrid

GM's most advanced car ever will hit dealer showrooms at the end of October and if early reviews are any indication, the 2016 Chevy Volt will likely be a big hit not just among electric hybrid enthusiasts, but also car buyers who are looking for a reasonably-priced automobile that's electric and also looks sporty enough to turn heads on the street. Despite the Volt's eco-friendly image, the second generation car is also gratifying to drive. While the Volt is not a pure electric vehicle (Chevy's all-electric Bolt will likely be unveiled in 2016) most drivers will rarely drive it for distances long enough to drain the battery. The Volt's all-electric range is 53 miles. GM said 41 miles is the average distance driven in a single day. Which means, if a driver charges the car each night when they get home, they'd never have to refill their tank. For those long weekend road trips, the total driving range is 420 miles.
