Tesla Motors Is Officially Changing Its Name to Tesla Inc.
Tesla is making some big changes.
Tesla Motors (TSLA) - Get Report is officially changing its name to "Tesla Inc."
Elon Musk, the CEO, initially tweeted about the name change last year, before shortening the website domain from teslamotors.com to just tesla.com.
The decision to remove "Motors" from the company's name comes as Tesla pushes forward with its battery business. In October, Musk announced that Tesla will build solar roofs to replace solar panels. The company also intends to expand into the ride-sharing business later this year.
