Tesla Model S Gets Harsh Review, Consumer Reports Say It Has Problems

Criticism is piling on Tesla. A year ago, Consumer Reports called the Model S the best car it had ever tested. But, after driving a little more than 10,000 miles, it is changing its mind. Consumer Reports said the electric car died after 12,000 miles during a test run and technicians had to perform a "hard reset" to make it run again. The navigation screen went blank, the roof was making noises and multiple parts had to be replaced. Consumer Reports acknowledged that the test result is based on one vehicle only, but it anticipates the reliability level to fall. On a conference call last month, Tesla CEO Elon Musk did say some of the Model S cars could have problems. He said, 'We definitely had some quality issues in the beginning, [we were] figuring out how to make the Model S.' Despite of the problems, Jim Cramer thinks Tesla is unstoppable. 'I think in the end while Consumer Reports did make it as being the top car, basically, ever cannot ding Tesla now it has the momentum.' TheStreet's Julia Sun reports from New York.
