Tesla is facing a ban that would prevent the electric car maker from directly selling its vehicles in the state of Michigan. A bill was introduced in May that sought to prevent franchised dealers from imposing random fees on customers. The act has since been amended to also prevent companies from selling directly to consumers in the state, which Tesla does through its retail locations. The bill has since passed the senate and been approved by the House. Now, it's awaiting the signature of Republican Governor Rick Snyder. If vetoed, that would be counter to states like California, Colorado, Massachusetts, Nevada and Virginia, all of which have formally approved Tesla's sales model.
