Terrell Davis, Defy CEO and NFL Hall Fame recipient, knows a lot about winning. The Broncos running back legend has won two Super Bowls and a slew of accolades from Super Bowl MVP to Colorado Hall of Fame and finalist in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
He is taking his winning strategies from the football field and applying them to his new leadership role as CEO and co-founder of Defy, a CBD, sports energy drink, and lifestyle company.
As part of TheStreet's Black History Month coverage, Davis sat down with Tony Owusu to discuss Black business ownership and how he feels the need to set an example for black entrepreneurs.
"As a black business owner, I recognize that what I do as a business owner... the next black business owner who approaches a bank for a loan or a marketing company, they will be judged based on what I do," Davis said.
"I'm always aware of our approach and how we go about our business because it is important that we leave a path that people can look up and say they appreciate that I'm doing it the right way."
