Stocks are slightly lower in midday trading Monday but the Nasdaq is getting hit hard. Big names like Facebook (FB), eBay (EBAY) and Google (GOOG) are helping to push the Nasdaq lower. Shares of Microsoft (MSFT) are still falling after the tech giant announced it bought the creator of the Minecraft video games, Mojang. Yahoo (YHOO) is weaving in and out of the flat line after being the most traded stock on the Nasdaq in the premarket. Yahoo owns a 23 percent stake in Alibaba, which is preparing for what could be the largest IPO in history. Ann Taylor (ANN) is feeling more pressure to sell itself. Hedge funds Red Alder and Engine Capital said the retailer could fetch up to $65 dollars a share.
