Tablets, Laptops, Smartphones, Video Game Consoles, Wearable Devices Top the Holiday Wish List
According to the Consumer Electronic Association’s Annual Holiday Forecast, the 2014 holiday season will see the highest levels of spending on consumer electronics in the last 20 years with total tech spending predicted to reach a record $33.76 billion. Jim Barry, the Digital Answer Man, tells TheStreet’s Jill Malandrino two thirds of us have consumer electronics at the top of our list, with tablets as the #1 item again, followed by laptops, TVs, smartphones and video game consoles. The good news is the prices are getting lower on just about all those items. Emerging tech gifts are now making an appearance, including fitness wearable devices, like Fitbit and action cameras such as the GoPro VOX. A big catalyst to this is the health and fitness craze.
