Three out of every four people have no clue what Bitcoin is. A new nationwide survey conducted for TheStreet by GfK found that 76% of respondents have never heard of Bitcoin. TheStreet's Joe Deaux says that just 2% of individuals said they own Bitcoin, and when given the option to own the crypto-currency or gold, respondents overwhelmingly chose the yellow metal. Bitcoin's profile popped in 2013 as hedge funds and banks research the currency's viability as a tradable asset.
