The ad will celebrate feature Francisco 49ers offensive assistant coach Katie Sowers, who on Sunday will become the first woman and first openly gay person to coach in the Super Bowl. The ad is titled “Be the One.”
The commercial shows Sowers on the football field conducting practices and coaching games. “All it takes is one, and then it opens the door for so many." Sowers says while looking at the camera as the on-screen text reads, “Thanks Katie for being the one.”
Microsoft's Super Bowl commercial from last year was one of the most talked about and the company is hoping that this year's ad will generate similar buzz. The ad from last year tells the story of those children with limited mobility and their love for video games. The ad titled "We All Win" was to promote its XBox Adaptive Controller.
Advertisers have faced criticism in recent years based on their lack of inclusion of women in a respectful way in their Super Bowl ads.
This year some brands are seeking to reverse that trend. An ad from Olay this year will feature an all-female cast and seeks to reach the female viewers in the Super Bowl audience.

Microsoft’s spot, done with its ad agency, Interpublic Group of Companies, was directed by Peter Berg, who was an executive producer on the TV adaptation of “Friday Night Lights” and an executive producer and director on HBO (T) shows “The Leftovers” and “Ballers.”
